heat recovery from exhaust gases

Heat Exchanger

The experts in engineering and producing

With many years of experience in the development and manufacture of apparatus and systems for heat recovery, boiler components and waste heat systems, Rosink-Werkstätten are successful worldwide.

Rosink-Werkstätten Exhaust Gas Heat Exchangers use a coolant to recover heat from exhaust gases, which would otherwise escape up the flue via the chimney, and would thus be lost to the process. Heat recovery reduces fuel consumption, saves raw material resources and reduces pollutant emissions. The average pay back time of such systems is 2 to 5 years.

All exhaust gas heat exchangers are calculated using self-developed design programs and designed and constructed using modern computer technology. Rosink-Werkstätten is a recognized welding company that guarantees the quality of its exhaust gas heat exchangers through trained specialists and modern equipment.

If required, Rosink-Werkstätten offers the entire range from finned tubes and exhaust gas heat exchangers as components of a complete system to complete waste heat systems.

Environmentally friendly

Exhaust Gas Heat Exchanger

Without exception, all exhaust gas heat exchangers from Rosink-Werkstätten fulfil the highest quality requirements. They are used in various municipal and industrial tasks to ensure environmentally friendly and cost-saving heat recovery. As a specialist in exhaust gas heat exchangers like the finned tubes heat exchanger, Rosink-Werkstätten can rely on years of experience and great expertise.

Continuous maintenance and preventive inspections avoid unplanned shutdowns and ensure proper functioning of exhaust gas heat exchangers over many years. An extensive spare parts warehouse ensures fast availability of exchangeable parts and guarantees planning security. Rosink-Werkstätten views the leading market position as an incentive to constantly improve and to incorporate customer suggestions in the development of heat exchangers.

Increasing efficiency

Economiser

For many industrial processes the availability of steam plays a major role. The multitude of steam generators applied in the different performance classes of leading manufacturers prove this. But even the exhaust gas of modern steam boilers still contains a lot of energy that can be used. This is where Rosink-Werkstätten Economisers are applied. As feed water pre-heater they supply the boiler with pre-heated water. As a result the efficiency of the plant can be increased by approx. 5–7 percent. Especially for older existing plants retrofitting amortizes in shortest time. Also for problematic installation situations we can nearly always offer you a solution.

Operating mode

Economisers are heat exchangers with exhaust gas on the one side and water on the other side. Economiser must be designed for the exhaust gas quantity, its temperature, the maximum allowable pressure drop, the used fuels as well as for the energy quantity to be recovered. A heat exchanger designed for gas-firing is likely to suffer clogging if installed downstream of a coal-fired boiler and will be subject to an increased risk of corrosion if used in conjunction with oil-firing.Economisers can be designed so as to keep the flue gases above the condensation temperature, others are manufactured from corrosion resistant materials in order to resist the exhaust gas condensate.

Exhaust Gas Condenser

The basic difference between an economizer and a flue gas condenser is the fact that an economizer generally heats a smaller quantity of water to high temperatures. The condenser can operate even more efficient because it still cools down a low flue gas temperature and thereby can utilize also the latent heat of the flue gas condensate.

However, the key to a successful application of heat recovery is to make use of this energy. There is a wide range of possible applications:

Heating of process water for industrial use, laundries, breweries, hospitals, green houses, district heating, space heating, de-icing, … this list could be continued endlessly.

The savings potential results from the current flue gas temperature, the required quantity of process water and the operating hours.

robustness and compactness

Waste Water Heat Exchangers

Waste water heat exchangers are mainly used for heat scalding tubs. They use the thermal energy contained in the wastewater. The waste water heat exchangers from Rosink-Werkstätten have the necessary robustness and compactness for this form of heat recovery.

Rosink’s experienced team can assist customers with the identification of optimization potential, the development of modernization concepts and the rectification of existing deficits. The goal is the long-term saving of costs and the protection of resources.
